Merry Christmas in the City

Walking home this evening, I was slowly aware of an uncharacteristic stillness falling all around along with the early darkness still so close to the winter solstice. Perhaps it was just me, and wishful thinking, but the normal rush of traffic and city life had somehow, imperceptibly and unhurriedly, slipped far into the distance as I walked, replaced instead by the bright, silent sparkle of Christmas trees all along the way. A most Merry Christmas and a happy yuletide to one and all from Fuchsias in the City.
