the fallen fuchsia

What’s flowering at The Fuchsietum? Or was, rather. The fallen fuchsia often has an interesting afterlife.

This bloom was blown into my birdbath and has developed an incredible translucent beauty.

Its transformation reminds me of the mesmerizing portraits of plants taken by Dr. Dain L. Tasker when he turned his x-ray machine from his patients to his flowers in the 1930s.

Art is all around us if we take even a fleeting moment to look.
