The Fuchsia Spotlight. 'DebRon's Premier Nouveau'

What’s flowering at the Fuchsietum? Fuchsia ‘DebRon’s Premier Nouveau’. It’s a large plant with large flowers and a bit of a rangey habit. I like it precisely for that ranginess.
The tendency to extend itself makes sense. The hybrid is a sibling of ‘DebRon’s Jolly Giant’, both with F. regia subsp. regia as their daddy. That Brazilian species can send out liana-like branches to scramble through bushes and trees for several meters. It has a certain Wanderlust in the wild.
I think I might actually move it closer to its neighbor, the variegated Azara. It seems to want to climb in and up and hang out there anyway. Many fuchsias will often do that so it’s just following its paternal instincts.
I think I might also train it into the moon gate arbor in lieu of ‘DR’s Jolly Giant’ accompanying Rosa ‘Florentina’. This cultivar is very floriferous and a significantly earlier performer than its brother cross.
This latest enchantment is from Oregon's own fuchsia magician, Ron Monnier. Ron lives in Milton-Freewater in the colder reaches of Eastern Oregon and is breeding for increased hardiness in his releases. His testing beds are in USDA Zone 7a (0°F to 5°F) . Or maybe even 6b (-5°F to 0°F). He does nothing to protect his plants through the winter there. They make it in the open ground on their own.
(In comparison, I'm generally more balmy, being somewhere in the middle between Zones 9a and 9b (10°F to 20°F).
